foxinsnow's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- a feminist Christmas Okay, so I'm not going to go through a list of all the cool presents I got today, but I will say that my brother's girlfriend (who was a women's studies major in college) got me Sisterhood Forever, a collection of feminist essays. i started with the one by Kathleen Hanna (yeah, you know me) and as is usual with her work i found it so empowering to read her recollections of what is was like to come to a place of feminist consciousness and activism in her life. While I was riased by a feminist mother, you're not always just born a feminist. What I mean is, it was comforting that Hanna was going through the same struggle then that I'm going through now, about how to define feminism for myself and how to actually DO something about it. Merry christmas, everybody! The revolution starts here (wherever that is for you).
